Lives To Tell is an Artificial Intelligence powered platform designed to help seniors record, preserve, and share their life stories through guided voice narration & AI transcription.

This is a passion project created by seasoned industry veterans based in the San Francisco Bay Area, blending accessibility design with LLMs to make storytelling more personal, reflective, and enduring for families, communities, and generations to come.

Problem

Seniors have rich life stories to share but face barriers with modern technology, language differences, and lack structured guidance, causing memories to go unrecorded and leaving families disconnected from their personal histories.

Solution

I designed the Lives To Tell app to guide seniors through storytelling with simple voice prompts and intuitive controls, automatically transcribing and organizing their narratives alongside an easy to navigate surface. Family members can collaborate by adding questions and comments, receiving notifications when new stories are available—preserving legacy memories and strengthening intergenerational bonds.

♥ The Reason Behind it All

When I was very young, my paternal grandfather passed away, leaving behind only that painted self-portrait on our bedroom wall and the handful of stories my dad, who was the youngest of seven, could recall. My younger brother never had the chance to meet him.

Most of my relatives live in a small village in India and speak Bhojpuri, a rich oral dialect without a written form, so meaningful connections rely on rare phone calls and my grandmother’s fading recollections. Those fleeting conversations made me realize how easily lifetimes of wisdom and warmth can slip through the cracks.

Lives To Tell was born from my mission to bridge that gap: to give seniors like my grandmother an effortless way to share their memories, and families everywhere a way to hold onto every precious story.
